Nicolet College Foundation’s A Day for Nicolet kicks off Oct. 7
The Nicolet College Foundation will kick off its biggest fundraising event of the year Tuesday, October 7, when A Day for Nicolet gets underway throughout the Northwoods for its 25th year.
“Nicolet College donors truly believe in the value of a Nicolet College education,” said Heather Schallock, executive director of the Nicolet College Foundation. “They see how it can improve the lives of individuals and also benefit the communities in which graduates live and work. A Day for Nicolet is an opportunity for donors to fuel the next generation of leaders and change-makers.”
On Oct. 7 Foundation board members will begin contacting businesses, organizations, clubs, and individuals throughout the region to generate donations. “This event has always been about neighbors helping neighbors,” said John Schiek, president of the Nicolet College Foundation Board. “When we come together to support students, we’re not just investing in their education, we’re investing in the Northwoods.”
“I’m so thankful to have the support of the community and to know there are people in my corner encouraging me to finish my education and do my best,” said Kailey Kupfer, Nicolet College nursing student and Nicolet College Foundation student ambassador. As ambassador, Kupfer helps spread the word to donors of the value of the Foundation and to students to let them know scholarship help is available.
To date the event has raised more than $3.5 million for scholarships, emergency funds, and academic programs, helping thousands of students pursue their dreams and build brighter futures. This year the Foundation has set a goal of raising $205,000 during A Day for Nicolet.
