Start Your Own Business in 8 weeks at Nicolet College
Do you have a business idea, but need some direction and support to get started? In Nicolet College’s eight-week Start Your Own Business class, you will learn the fundamentals to success and discover the tools to explore the world of being an entrepreneur.
The class will run in the evenings at Nicolet College’s Rhinelander campus every Tuesday starting September 16, through Tuesday, November 4. Beginning August 18, learners can register online.
Business instructor Alan Toliver will lead aspiring entrepreneurs on a journey of discovery and answers. Toliver, a certified public accountant who holds a master’s degree in business administration, will introduce side hustlers and aspiring or early-stage business owners to the tools to launch or scale up their business.
“This class is for anyone with a business idea that has passion and drive,” says Toliver.
During the class, learners will get one-on-one mentorship, develop launch-ready business plans, establish a pitch to secure funding or promote their business, and create a clear action plan and startup roadmap.
“Education can be a shortcut to success for aspiring business owners,” says Ellen Mathein, dean of business and entrepreneurship at Nicolet College. “By learning basic business knowledge and skills before they dive into the deep end, business owners can lessen the early growing pains that many experience during start-up or scaling.”
Six scholarships are available to Vilas County residents. Vilas County residents can contact Heather Schallock at 715-365-4518 or hschallock@nicoletcollege.edu to register and apply for the scholarship.
