BEGINNING CERAMICS: HANDBUILDING

Discover the joy of ceramic hand building in this beginner-friendly class. Perfect for those new to the art, you'll learn how to prepare clay and shape it into beautiful creations using techniques like pinch pots, coils, and slab work. Each class will start with a demonstration, followed by hands-on support from the instructor to help you throughout the session. Please note, this class does not include wheel instruction.
The course fee includes approximately 25 pounds of clay, firings, glazing, and access to studio and instructor equipment. With a proven track record of successfully teaching this class, the instructor will guide you through the multitude of techniques available for forming clay using your hands and various studio tools.
No prerequisites are required—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Start your journey into the wonderful world of ceramics.
Cancellations must be made five days before the initial class session to be eligible for a refund. Nicolet College reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, substitute instructors, or make any changes to classes as necessary.
Age requirement for Community Education classes: Unless otherwise specified in the class description, children under 18 are allowed, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
