Solstice Celebration
Welcome the return of the light on the darkest day in the Northwoods Community Garden. Brave the cold and participate in solstice folk traditions, hot beverages, and a ritual burning marking the end of Ian Chandler’s garden installation “AMASS.” Artist Ian Chandler remarks, “Nothing is permanent, as much as we may like to think so. But that just means we all have a cycle of our own, which is something to cherish and love, and of course, reflect on. So, in reflection of my own cyclical truth, I will ceremoniously be burning my installation AMASS and allowing the sculptures themselves to come to end, and return to the Earth and Sky.” This event is hosted in partnership with the Northwoods Community Garden.
